What is the point of Hello Kitty?

Posted by Bob Bcrbo Van de Voorde on 2010-08-31 23:27:10
We write one month ago, when we see the lone Hungarian wolves cruising up and down the streets of Antwerp. Enjoying their Day 1, taking their group with force, even though they were not seeded within the top 8, and enjoying the temporary high that is competitive gaming.

Weeks have passed now and there might be some feelings of uneasiness at the missed opportunity at the Antwerp Esports Festival after a great start of the tournament and winning the group. The team were lucky to have been thrown into the obviously easier side of the bracket and found themselves facing no real heavy hitters until the Semi Finals.

But when they came across a strong RAGE Gaming team, they crumbled and even though they finish in the same place as Reason Gaming, there is a sense of unfulfillment at the possibility of at least one more extra round. The organisational problems between the players and zeroPoint! itself might have played a part in their performance and the team have confirmed earlier, that they will be leaving the home and are looking for a new spot.

To put their actions where their mouths were, the team attended the local BECUP 2010 event and walked away with a resounding victory over their closest competitors. With their history of solid LAN performance and more importantly, changing their line-up at the rarest of times, the team feel they deserve the backing of an organisation that will send them to some, if not all, of Europe's top LANs.

The team will be known as Hello Kitty and features the following line-up:

Hungary Peter "Jayme" Biro (Manager)

Hungary Attila "Boco" Árvai
Hungary Tamás "kZstaR" Ádámszky
Hungary Gábor "sT1ng3R" Szakál
Hungary Dávid "Stormy" Fézler
Hungary Csongor "FUTUREEE" Beder

The team's manager, offered the following statement to TEK9:

"Well, I don't want to talk that much about the part that we are no longer zeroPoint. We had a great time in zeroPoint, but things didn't work out that well, in the end. After AEF we didn't really practise at all, we played just a few wars right before BECUP 2010, but we are happy that we could take home the gold and prove that we are still nr1 in Hungary.  At the moment we are searching for an organisation that could support us in the future, please feel free to contact me on xfire: pjjj or by mail: peter[at]justin-bieber.hu ."

Final Standings of the BECUP 2010:

Hello Kitty - 80 000 HUF (~ €280) / 1 x LG W2363V-WF Gaming Monitor / 1 x HP Wireless Access Point / Red Bull
Gigabyte - 40 000 HUF (~ €140) / 1 x LG W2363V-WF Gaming Monitor / Red Bull
Digestive Gaming - 20 000 HUF (~ €70) / a coupon for Laser Force Arena / Red Bull

Just that Insomnians one person ticket is equivalent to a team ticket here...

Hasn't there been a news post about this earlier? Not about the rename, but the problems between zP! and this team.

That's what you get when you add a team who solely did well online when exploiting the OP SMG's, and had therefore won an online CoDQCup, but then went on to failing when Promod was introduced :D

It's worth a shot e-mailing them, nothing is to be lost and it's not like COD4 players take salaries (well most don't).

Why would anyone want to join SK tbf?
Do you know how bad they treat their teams excluding the 1.6 team?

"We write one month ago, when we see the lone Hungarian wolves cruising up and down the streets of Antwerp." bad english or?
+0 thumbs
why's that now? ^^
+0 thumbs
doesnt have any sense or im missing something :)
+0 thumbs
Should be "We wrote one month ago, when we saw the ......."
+0 thumbs
not really, what bob writes, makes perfect sense and is correct grammar
19 months ago
+0 thumbs
yep it should be that, why are foreigners arguing with people who speak english as their first language -_-
19 months ago
+0 thumbs
write is not past tense and the same goes for see. Im not very good with grammer bit it seems wrong to me :P
19 months ago
+0 thumbs
ye I understand what you mean...but:

we write "I am talking in simple present in the past, which is called the historical past, talking about things in the past in the simple present...it's not bad grammar - could be that it might seem weird...you can also write it by using simple past..and regards to vers, I used that sentence to create a setting for the news item, it is referring back to AEF
19 months ago
+0 thumbs
It could be wrong, but it's perfectly fine in dutch. I dno if you people use the same logistical feel to it. What Bob wrote is: We schrijven het jaar/een maand geleden. Which would literally translate to: We write the year / a month ago. In this case, We write refers to the past tense and refers to the period of time which is placed after "We write" e.g, the sentence makes sense for people who speak the Dutch language, and depending on grammar rules, it should make sense to people in the UK as well :P

And that's why English is English and Dutch is Dutch, direct translation almost always makes no sense.

@zeromaxy .. yes, but English & Dutch stem from the same linguistic roots, both are Germanic languages and have approximately the same Grammar...I am not 100% sure that it was correct, but I think my explanation made sense, I just chose to write it in simple present, instead of simple past, which should both be correct English...

I was taught that narratory tenses are past tenses and seeing you narrate an AEF story here... :) I have no problems, I completely understand it I was merely trying to explain where Vers saw a problem.
