And the answer is: everything. Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner is well known for his shoutcasting endeavours and his bi-weekly column here on TEK9. What you also might know is that he does a similar bi-weekly column on Cadred with the same title as the one on TEK9. Well in his new column over at Cadred, Paul comes up with a somewhat... strange idea.
The interesting article goes in depth about how Valve CEO Gabe Newell responded to criticism on his new and highly anticipated release of Left 4 Dead 2 and tells the story of how Newell responded to this criticism in a manner unseen anywhere else. Furthermore, Newell goes even further when in response to his actions someone else rises up seeking his hard sought after attention. I won't go into detail as the article does it far better than I would ever be able to, but the core of the article shows a CEO of a multimillion dollar company actually caring about the community.
This is where ReDeYe steps in and takes a look at Counter-Strike Source community and many of the unanswered questions the community would like Newell to answer. He proposes a daunting plan that should grasp the attention of Mr Valve.
Enter: one giant inflatable penis
Location: London marathon
Goal: raise £ 10,000 for charity if the Valve CEO agrees to meet with the CSS community
Chinese volunteer: ReDeYe himself
For all the details of the story I suggest you head on over to Cadred by following
this link. It's an interesting story to say the least, and perhaps if succesful we'll have a story to tell our grandchildren one day. How a community made a big shot CEO listen to them, or how a little man in a giant inflatable penis ran the London marathon - the choice is yours!
more then likely or that they all smell
