Total Gaming League Postponed Until Further Notice

Posted by Bob Bcrbo Van de Voorde on 2011-02-03 19:37:03
Just under one month ago, the Total Gaming League was announced and quite a few European teams signed up and were looking to participate in this somewhat high paying Cup, after donating a small entrance fee. After the sign-ups closed earlier, the Cup was set to go live in a couple of days but has now been postponed indefinitely.

The Total Gaming League was supposed to attract quite a number of European teams, asking each team to wire a small amount of money to the league's organisation and in return having a much larger prize purse to play with. However, the Total Gaming League Call of Duty 4 admin, Gábor "sANtiaGo" Mannheim, has had to inform us that the league's start has now been put on hold.

The reason for said delay is the fact that the organisation's server hosts have perpretrated a fellony and closed down the organisation's servers, on which the website and entire league infrastructure are hosted, without notice and without any proper reason. This of course eliminates any possibility of the league starting until this matter is taken care of.

The organisation's legal team are currently looking into their possibilities and the start of the Call of Duty 4 league has been postponed until a new server host is found and the organisation has recovered its losses by their former server host. There are no talks of a complete discontinuation at this point and therefore, we should see the Total Gaming League get underway again, as soon as these problems are fixed.

Statement Gábor "sANtiaGo" Mannheim":

There is a bigger problem than as we thought. The official statement from this situation is the next. Everyone knows that the TotalGaming is one of the biggest information panel in Hungary, who trying to unite and building up the Esports community. Making news, threads, blogs and huge articles. To reach and enforce this,  clearly means to the domestic eSports community that we should get a positive developement and and a huge step forward.

Our job is to inform communities on a daily basis in about everything that concerns the community. The TotalGaming gives you the opportunity for interoperability, it's reached that a player can't operate himslef only in its usual area, but he should try out himself a completely different fields. The TotalGaming has prominent place in the online media market and provides a very deep level and rich contents to our visitors. We always stand on a high level in our news throughout the European level are also prominent, many of them only known as online games.

Therefore you can't think about that we want to take your money and run away. No intention to do it. We have multiple servers so that we can easily run these pages, services of course in perfect quality. All of our servers are based in the DATAPLEX also T-Systems' servers. Two days ago, suddenly our services stopped along with all pages like TotalGaming.hu and TotalGamingLeague.hu They reported some technical problems back to us, but today we know that they were improperly decommissioned our servers with the functioning of essential services ( even there isn't any resposible person for that). At the Moment a lots of our costumers and Supporters, partner are asking us about this problem.

Unfortunately, this was take outside of our fault and apologize on behalf of any other reason, but must to wait till we solve this situation. The lawyers are already working to get temporary location as soon as we can stand up again, and then compensated for the damage suffered by us. Thank you for your understanding and patience, but unfortunately this is Hungary. If someone wants to do something good and trying to reach it, then there somebody who is always a trying to be crossed.

As soon as I can I'll get you more information. The TotalGaming League suspended and postponed until then this will solved. All payments has been received and each has been approved, so do not worry about it. I promised implement it. I gave him my word!

Sincerely,

Gabor "sANtiaGo" Mannheim

well... try to explain the problem better, cause I really don't understand how is this an obstacle to host the cup..

until then, you should at least refund everyone that have paid..

think he made it pretty clear, the provider closed down access and took down sites/servers.

obviously all the info etc would have been stored in the website/ftp or whatever so until they get access they cant 'copy' it over. GL getting it sorted asap, always annoying being screwed over by what should be a 'professional' company.

As TGL is partnered with TLR, I have proposed (if needed) that we use our site for running the league. We have the system that can handle it, so it shouldn't be a problem.

We will, of course, have to discuss it further.

Other sites are capable of running the league, but if their servers are down they lose all the information. Would be very difficult to work out which teams have / haven't paid etc without info, would be a lot of guesswork and would result in a huge trainwreck. People who did honestly pay wouldn't get singed up, and people who didn't would lie and say they did.

there is even a huge forum thread about the paid/signed up teams on tek9 ... also im sure most of the teams have proofs about the payment so it shouldnt be a problem

i smell some deep shit, but hopefully everythings gonna be alright

This league will be start as soon as possible and all prizes will be gave to u if it'll be done. Just have to solve this issue. I've the groups, brackets, tourney layout, rules and so on. Just want to host to use by our system.

Either get it hosted on a new host / website within the next 2 weeks or give all the teams their refunds, that would be the professional thing to do.

You have no right to hold onto people's money just because a tournament will 'eventually come'. I know it is not your fault but at the end of the day people have signed up and paid to play a tournament NOW not in 1 or 2 or 3 months from now.

So when all teams where signing up and paying etc, you didnt even think to keep a record of payments and teams? even though something like this could quite EASILY happen....

If you was doing everything you could to get all this sorted you would have made the effort to atleast setup a cup on a new host or even on ESH atleast its a layout....

Because of this so called *SCAM* i wonder how many teams will pay to play in leagues/cups Such as this one. You cant expect the community to grow if this is gunna be a regular occurance.

was 20euros per team, 32 teams got reached I think? = 640 euros

i think thats worth the scam (forgive my thirdworld remarks) for a hungarian

You can read out more about TGL back online here - www.tlr-esports.com/news/186/TGL-back-online!

Gabor "sANtiaGo " Mannheim said:
Unfortunately, after these past few days none of our pages hosted by TotalGaming Ltd. were available including the TotalGaming League site. Our Internet service provider, T-Online, wrongfully removed our servers from the center network acces. Even after a long battle with them, they were not willing to co-operate with this project. This has resulted in our company deciding to switch providers, which hasalso been announced today.

Because we were busy with administrative matters following the events of this week, we have moved the payment deadline which means more teams can sign up. The new deadling has been moved to Wednesday 9th of February, and then on Friday (11th of February) we'll put the groups online.
