The eleventh edition of the ESL Major Series has now been unleashed upon the waiting masses, including titles such as Call of Duty, CS:GO and League of Legends making up the total prize pot of €34,000.
The ESL Major Series is a tournament that spans back to the summer of 2007 seeing over €218,000 worth of prize money dished out to a variety of cyber athletes during its lifespan. For most the tournament isn't just about the gold at the end of the rainbow, but the prestige the title of victor holds, and it will be no different this time around during the Winter 2012 edition.
Choosing eight competitive titles, some based on ESL activity and others on competitive potential it looks to be one of the best seasons yet, and due to its activity on the ESL Call of Duty is once again in the mix. Interestingly Counter-Strike: Source has been eliminated from the line up, being replaced by it's new born cousin Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with the ESL stating that they feel its time to give the new title a proper start.
Details on how to qualify are yet to be released, with specific details promised over the course of the next few days.
