Today comes the sad news that the well known and respected organisation Team YoYoTech, long time supporters of the CoD4 community, have had to let their Finnish CoD4 team go.The organisation first came to the attention of the wider community when they picked up NCC esports back in early 2009, a team full of rising stars whose names many of you will now be familiar with. This team was the catalyst for a series of successful CoD4 teams and more than 2 years of consistent high quality performance. The latest team to play under the YYT banner are the successful Finnish lineup formerly known as Blight-Gaming, who were recently crowned winners of the Helsinki CoD4 Challenge last April.
However, behind the scenes problems have been brewing for some time in YYT, and unfortunately it is the same old story. The plague of esports organisations: sponsor troubles and funding issues, have struck again. With the money drying up and no more forthcoming things were starting to seem bleak for the organisation.
And, with the MSI Grunex LAN coming up, as well as the rumoured CiC8 event on the horizon, the management decided it was best to let the team go and find themselves a new organisation that could provide them with the funding they undoubtedly deserve. Parting on the best of terms, the team are on the lookout for a new organisation to join, and are playing under the temporary name of team2K.
Team YoYoTech were:
Juho "juho_O" Sihvo
Kimi "k1mi" V
Ville "rEplan" Ijäs
Sasu "saruz" Salakka
Samuli "sLWx" Kettunen
Sasu "saruz" Salakka gave TEK9 a statement about the situation:
"We want to thank YoYoTech, their sponsors, and especially Srgy and Rage for their devotion and work they did for us. YoYoTech has been by far the best organisation we have ever had. We are currently looking for a new organisation to back us up for the future events. Shoutouts to K1cketernal, Mika "Benu" Leppänen and Hxns-crew. Contact: kimi.viksten@hotmail.com"
