Kevin "strenx" Baeza kept his win recent streak intact yesterday with a second consecutive big win over Alessandro "stermy" Avallone, this time in ESL's GameOn finals. The victory saw the French player take the top prize in the amatuer online event as he picked up an Alienware M17x laptop along with an expenses paid trip to CeBIT next month.
The tournament's conclusion saw the national champions from across Europe go head-to-head with a range of gaming hardware prizes up for grabs courtesy of Alienware and Roccat. The in-form Baeza was awarded a bye in the semi-finals after Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski was forced to drop out but will not feel he was given an easy ride after tough group stage ties versus IEM EU champ Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky and recent ZOTAC winner Richard "noctis" Gansterer.
