Kevin "strenx" Baeza has claimed the top spot and $350 in the Excello QuakeLive 1v1 Cup after defeating Richard "noctis" Gansterer on ZTN and DM6 in the final. The French star hit the headlines after joining fnatic last week and has gone some way to justify his place in the allstar squad after winning last night, in a tournament that also included his highly rated teammate Sebastian "spart1e" Siira.
Other notable attendees included Marcel "k1llsen" Paul and Maciej "av3k"Krzykowski, who has yet to recover his form of previous years in QuakeLive. Despite "strenx" earning the top seed, "noctis" was for many the firm favourite, especially after defeating "spart1e" in the semi finals. It was to be the French player's day, however, and he will take confidence going into future offline events after finishing the event without dropping a map.
Excello's Karl Danielsson congratulated the fnatic player on his "impressive victory", and told fans to "stay tuned for more tournaments in the near future".

His "form of previous years" was in Quake 3 and 4.

I don't think it needs clarifying but it says he hasn't recaptured his (Quake 3/4) form in QuakeLive yet.
Get it? :P
