SPEEDLINK over mTw in EPS DE season finale

Team SPEEDLINK has come out on victorious in a thrilling season finale of the 15th ESL Pro Series Germany season, defeating German rivals mTw after five overtimes. Unlike all other ESL Pro Series finals, which took place at the EXPO XXI in Cologne, Germany last weekend, the Call of Duty 4 playoff stages were played online due to the FSK 18 regulations in Germany, which prevents people from under the age of 18 to buy the game and does not allow the game to be shown on stage at a public event.

Despite all this, the game was streamed live yesterday evening for four hours straight (from 21:00 till 01:00 CET) and turned into quite the spectacle, with mTw taking the first map, mp_backlot, after two MR3 overtimes, 15-15, 3-3, 4-2, resulting in a final score of 22 to 20.

The second map proved to be no different, with mTw coming very close to win the grand final and take home €1,250 for their efforts. SPEEDLINK however managed to come out top on mp_crash after another two overtime map with a score of 22 to 18 (15-15, 3-3, 4-0) and went on to beat their rivals on the third and decisive map, mp_crossfire: 19 to 17 (15-15, 4-2).
