With the first two playdays taking place earlier this week, the 128 team Sapphire Challenge, hosted by Esports Heaven, has reached the final stages.Upcoming Tuesday at 20:00 CET (19:00 GMT) the Quarter Finals of the Sapphire sponsored competition will be going live on mp_strike, followed by two Semi-Final matchups on mp_citystreets.
After winning the previous Esports Heaven tournament, Power Gaming are surprisingly no longer in the tournament after losing to the Polish side BB in the third round on mp_backlot, 10 to 13.
Other respected names that got knocked in the first four rounds include PGS (5-13 vs iNFiNiTY*SKiLLS), Team Infused (10-13 vs PGC), Reason Gaming (9-13 vs HWA), corgz (10-13 vs infernal gamers) and NCE.i3D (8-13 vs fnatic).
With the Semi-Finals scheduled for Tuesday, the Grand Final of the €500 Sapphire Challenge will be taking place next Thursday, the 11th of February, using a best-of-three format.
