What to do, what to do about that one Next Evolution player. We shall name him Jan "paradox" Duchon and remember what he did to the very unfortunate Epsilon-eSports line-up for a while. Supported by his girlfriend behind him, paradox and the rest of Next Evolution simply stormed over the British-BeNeLux mix.
The match started on mp_citystreets and was over before anyone really noticed what happened to the Epsilon-eSports line-up. The BeNeBr boys had everything going for them, they had some strong matches in the rounds before and were all playing as they wanted to, or so it seemed anyway.
They wanted to push Market and decide on moving to a specific spot after having picked at least one of the Next Evolution guys off. However, as soon as they appeared in the middle area of the middle area-focused map, Jan "paradox" Duchon was on call to pick people rushing through B alley, via Single Palm, via Wooden or basically any spot that he could lay his scope on.
It will sound quite boring, but there was not much left to do for the non-paradox members of Next Evolution; not to say that they did not play a proper game or were not up to par. No, they simply had no way of showing everyone what they could do, it was a one-man show.
Occasionally there was some room for Erik "
FrosteR" van den Biggelaar or Nick "
toxjee" Hol to showcase their control of middle and the bombspots. Especially telling was the performance the last-named Dutchman pulled off, as he took an aggressive 1on3 near Double Doors and that round in itself was quite telling as to what the BeNeBr guys had done here.
Not many of the Epsilon-eSports had a good game, well most of them had a bad game too be quite frank. Darnall "
DESZTON" Brumond-Pinas seemed desperate and tried to push and force the action on the Czech master scope, however, he got shut down round after round and was perhaps the least effective player of the new team.
Whatever they tried to do, it failed to work and especially the communication between the different players was near to totally non-existant. They did not even bother to call a time-out and work on their mistakes. Perhaps they will take this win in stride and simply try to forget it as quickly as possible to then have their way with the number two of Group D.
