After a continuing stream of problems with Stefan "Guana" Geisler's computer (first the screen and then another problem, which has popped up again in the games after and made the organizers move the team to another set of pc's), the game that is most likely to decide Group D was interesting, but more a determinans of Herr not performing up to par.
It seemed that the consistent problems played their part on the Herr line-up, as some of them seemed to lack focus and the communication seemed to be minimal and perhaps were a little shook up about the fact that fate seemed to work against them.
eSuba was far from shook up, though, going strong right from the start and showing that they are at least on par with the BeNeDe mix and were going for A bomb site a lot. They tried to mix it up a lot in the beginning rounds, though, not focus on either bomb site too much, just go for a split when they lost a round that was on a different tactic.
In these opening rounds, it was definitely Michal "MISAK" Valusek who was the shining player, taking frags with his SMG against the A defenders of Herr. However, with Petr "hectic" König and Radoslaw "CRX" Rowinski not being that warm yet or not that eager to go yet, the score difference never really became much different. Stefan "Guana" Geisler, despite his problems, was the main man on the Herr team, though, he tried to counter the A pushes and one round managed to get three in a row, but they still lost the round.
The final score was close, but still in favour of eSuba, a true showing of how the match had progressed, as it seemed that all Herr could do was play catch-up with the eager Czech-Polish mix. 07 - 05 was the verdict and it was eSuba's time to defend.
When they started, the half time gave eSuba the necessary time to work on how they'd want to approach their second half. They played arguably more aggressive in middle, though, with MISAK locking down the middle a lot and especially CRX and Piotr "dEvianCe" Antoszkiewicz stepping up their game.
This change of pace also was reflected in the results, as eSuba started winning round after round and soon found themselves hitting the double digits and pushing over to get 11 rounds on their ballot, with Herr only having six. Finally though, they could claw back some rounds and pull it back to 8 rounds.
However, a last push of eSuba was enough to secure them the 12th and the elating 13th round, after another few strong moments by the two Poles in the team. The eSuba team seemed coherent enough to pose a threat to Epsilon-eSports, given that they win their remaining matches, and it will turn out to be a close Quarter Final.
