Even though the Grand Final of the Roccat Kone Challenge, organized by Esportsheaven, was scheduled to finish on Monday 12th December, the players decided to move it to Wednesday 15th December due to Germany's ESL Pro Series concluding on Monday as well.
So, earlier tonight, Germany and France geared up for another fight and decide who would walk away with the £500 or with the Roccat gaming gear. The German replika were in the advantageous position, however, after having beaten MondialServers in the Winnerbracket Final, on an interesting Best-of-Three.
MondialServers fought their way back in for revenge by beating TheLastResort in the Lowerbracket Final and mp_strike would be the very first map of the Grand Final. Because of their Winnerbracket Final win, replika needed to only win one map to become the winner in this all-deciding Best-of-Three.
Inspired by an unleashed Sascha "
neon" Böhlendorf and former TEK9 star, Daniel "
L-KiNG" Luther, the Germans went into the second half with a two point lead and managed to maintain that right until the end and walk away with the win on mp_strike. Raphaël "
RaiGeKi" Nunes was the main man on the French side, though, with some very strong clutches and play, however, his efforts were just short of legendary and MondialServers will have to be satisfied with 'only' a second place finish.
replika:
