USA duelers make an unexpected appearance in GDATA #14 ahead of the IEM global finals.

Europe's big names will face Shane "rapha" Hendrixson, Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty and Chance "Chance" Lacina ahead of schedule this weekend as the world's top stars warm up for the IEM finals in this week's GDATA cup. Despite the low stakes, a vital psychological advantage ahead of next week's big event is up for grabs as seven of the twelve finalists fight it out for the €100 top prize.

With the games already underway, Lacina looks set for a tough match-up with IEM EU finalist Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski while German star Marcel "k1llsen" Paul clashes with SK's Hendrixson. The latter has made good use of his time leading up to the event, bootcamping with Mousesports' Anton "Cooller" Singov in Germany as he hopes to overcome his recent inconsistency and reclaim his QuakeLive crown.

Update: Shane "rapha" Hendrixson claims the fourteenth GDATA title after a string of strong performances versus the highly fancied Europeans. Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty can also be pleased with his final standing as he narrowly lost out to Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski in the semis in what was a confidence-boosting weekend for the USA players in Europe.
