SK-Gaming's Shane "rapha" Hendrixson followed up his Quakecon success with another top placing this afternoon, claiming the $1,000 first prize in the Intel Extreme Masters Pro/Am Challenge in Cologne, Germany. The 20 year old American's participation at the event was only finalised earlier this week but there was no sign he wasn't totally prepared as he eased past Magnus "fox" Olsson to reach his second major final in as many weeks.
His opponent, Richard "noctis" Gansterer, was unable to attend Quakecon despite being offered sponsorship from Fatal1ty but had controversially earned the number three seed at the Pro/Am after winning ESL's recent QL Invitational. His victories over Jeffrey "draven" Debipersad and Quakecon finalist Sebastian "spart1e" Siira definitely silenced his critics but it was in "rapha" he was to meet his match.
The pair began proceedings on T4 with "noctis" rushing to challenge his opponent at the megahealth only to be shotgunned down in an exchange that proved a sign of things to come. Unable to ever fully wrest back control, "noctis" went down 22 to 12 and came off second best again in a tight affair on DM13. European fans thought the comeback was on after a 7 - 9 reversal on T9 but "rapha" was not to be denied, closing out the match 5 to 4 on ZTN to claim his second major QuakeLive title.
IEM Pro/Am Challenge Final Standings
1st Shane "rapha" Hendrixson ($1,000) 2nd Richard "noctis" Gansterer 3rd/4th Sebastian "spart1e" Siira 3rd/4th Magnus "fox" Olsson Grand Final (B05) Shane "rapha" Hendrixson 3 - 1 Richard "noctis" Gansterer
hmm, not really.. they are training partners so they both know what they can do + everyone expected noctis to do well. AND! Spartie has a good excuse since his gear got lost by the airline he travelled with ;)
fazz and fox are training partners, do you see fazz raping fox - no. Stop defending your own players with boring arguments.
Did fazz win the ESL Inv? No, but noctis did and he was seeded 3rd for a reason. noctis was the only player who was expected to be able to beat rapha, so if you don't know anything about the community, please don't act like you do.
And the whole fox - fazz thing makes no sense.. You say Spartie was surprised, but as I said: they are trainings partners, they know what they can expect from each other so they don't get surprised as they know what they can and cannot do. noctis is one of the worlds best players, fazz isn't.
It wouldn't even be a surprise if noctis won vs rapha, so winning versus Spartie isn't a surprise at all.
My arguments might be boring, but they are valid. Unlike yours.

Please reply to everything I said (also the bold part), instead of nitpicking to win a discussion.
