Whilst highsens started the match great on mp_crossfire with their fully Czech line-up due to holidays in the team, they lost one of their players and all momentum afterwards. TCM-Gaming managed to take advantage of the situation and secured the Grand Final spot after beating the glorified mix that was highsens. In what was expected to be a real close affair between these two Call of Duty 4 greats, turned out to suffer some unexpected circumstances and the game became the biggest loser of the evening, as TCM-Gaming were not going to let up on their applied pressure due to the happenings.
It was in fact highsens that took the game by storm on mp_crossfire, as they were defending and especially Jan "
paradox" Duchon could close out kill after kill, standing frequently from "new" spots in the A house to scope down to the B bomb and surprise the planters of the TCM-Gaming team. He was defended by Petr "
king" Elbogen from the bottom of A house, who took defensively aggressive spots to peak from and was a strong support beacon to the A concentrated defence of highsens.
It was therefore the more sad that this fully Czech highsens team had to swap their line-up halfway through, after his brother apparently walked into his room and urged him to help his family out, putting highsens in quite the pickle. The man with the jar to put that pickle in would end up being former team mate of the players, Nikolai "
Mazarini" Lazarev who tried valiantly to help the cause, but the tied had already turned by this point and TCM-Gaming would go for gold on mp_crossfire. A difficult 06:06 halftime for the Swedes of TCM-Gaming was the most they could get out of this first half.
After giving up the first few rounds of the second half, Roe "
froz" Langaas and his m4a1 went over and beyond to win five consecutive rounds to give them the advantage to close this map out. The Czech team put their hopes in Lubomír
"Luboshmir" Pešák to go huge, which he did in a very peculiar 1on3 whilst dancing across the fully unsmoked map with a perhaps not so attentive Chris "
blackmane" Kinnair looking for the shot. 13:08 to finish the map and it was now time for TCM-Gaming to move over to their map and hopefully close it out in two.
TCM-Gaming were attacking first on mp_backlot and hoping to do well, which would seem to be the case, as they dodged the unpractised regime of nades flying towards them quite well and especially Adam "
Mumma" Timle-Händel was the main force behind these pushes and he found himself wrieking havoc in the A house, with the highsens defence being generally unable to enter or lock it out. Curiously enough, these pushes earned the TCM-Gaming side way too few rounds, as they would lose the middle of the map too easily to the Czech AKs and Chris "blackmane" Kinnair and Andreas "
azeo" Westerlund seemed a bit out of it, not contributing that much.
It was then no surprise that the map ended at a 06:06 halftime once more. And in similar fashion to the previous map, the perhaps more difficult defending side seems to be TCM-Gaming's bread and butter. Round after round went the way of the TCM-Gaming side, who had some interesting plays and the SMGs in general were the most useful, with Michele "
skiNNN" Mancini finally stepping up and getting plenty of frags on the third map of the evening.
Before too long, TCM-Gaming saw match point come their way and Roe "froz" Langaas was one of the players helping to secure it, giving TCM-Gaming their win in two maps and being the first team to be in the Grand Final of this Euro Cups PowerCup. The final of which should be played next Sunday and the Swedes will either meet Anexis eSports or GAMESENSE.
