Popular gaming movie site own-age.com is set to close next month according to an announcement by owner Sean Kuehnel. For years the site has been home to a database of thousands of movies as well as a vast array of popular tutorials. No definitive reason is provided for the news but Kuehnel admits to becoming nothing more than an "extremely passive supporter" of the site in recent years.
Made famous with the release of "AnnihilatioN", the most popular Quake movie of its time, Sean "own-age" Kuehnel's site of the same name has become a focal point for the gaming movie community over the past decade. He thanks "all the people who helped and supported over the years" in his statement but admits "after almost 9 years of keeping this website up I am finally not going to support it anymore".
The decision has been met with disappointment from the community and various efforts are being made to keep the site running in some capacity. Kuehnel himself has updated his original statement to add "Talking to some people.. may keep the site up in a different form or so.. will let you know if more comes about from these discussions".
Ye it is a sad thing, the most legendary movie site's going down. It's a wonder that people still submitted movies to own-age till the very end.
Even though the site wouldn't load half the time pretty much all the good movies appeared there as soon as they were released.
Guess I'll have to find another movie site to go to. Any suggestions?
R.I.P
That site has been my main gaming movie source for many years.

There should be an official statement on their website.
It would of been coming back late 2010, but it's definitely shutting down sometime soon.
