The Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising Mapping Contest by TEK9 is now live and people can start entering their maps. Using the link http://www.tek-9.org/competition/view/1/ you can upload your own map and add up to
five screenshots. You also need to make sure you only upload a .rar of .zip !
How to enter your map:
1. Create an account on TEK9 if you don't have one yet
2. Go to
http://www.tek-9.org/competition/view/1/ (when logged in)
3. Upload up to five screenshots of your map
4. Upload your map in .zip or .rar format
You can discuss the uploaded maps and the competition right here.We would also like to mention we have pushed back the deadline a week to allow people an extra week to make their map and submit it.
So what are we looking for:
Well anything really. At the moment we have 2 types of gametype; Annihilation and infiltration. So show off your skill at designing maps for these 2 gametypes, and maybe you could design maps better than the 4 new ones released with the DLC.
With there being a "remove AI script" that can be implemented, if you so wish to, you can design maps for a certain number of players such as 5v5 ranging all the way to 16v16. However, if you wish to design levels that cater for both player and AI control then that is perfectly fine.So how do you start?Well obviously the first step is to make the map itself. We will also need a small text file with the following details;
Your Name:
Map name:
Map Surroundings (ie give the reader a quick run-down of what setting they will be playing under):
Gametype it is suited for:
Number of players it is suited for:
Vehicles, if any?:
Then once that is all done, take some screeshots of your map, WINRAR or WINZIP all of the data and send it over to the portal as soon as we launch it. If you could name the WINZIP/WINRAR file as "NAME|MAPNAME" that would be great.
Competition Information:Competition start: Tuesday 10th November
Uploading possible: Monday 23rd November
Competition end: Sunday 6th of December
Winners announced: Sunday 20th December.
And the final update we would like to mention is that the move of the minisite is now complete. This means that all the content that could be found on
