Today Codemasters have released a Demo version of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. This is a great opportunity for those who are considering buying the game to give it a go. The demo is 1.39 Gigs, but gives you the opportunity to play the first mission in the Campaign.
Mission Overview
As part of a Special Forces squad inserting behind Chinese PLA lines, players must eliminate a strategically critical radar station and missile sites to allow the USS Iwo Jima, carrying the main USMC battalion, to safely approach the island of Skira.Within this mission you will be able to get to grips with the command system; allowing you to control fire manouvers, call formations for your squads and much more. You will also be able to try out the vehicles and heavy weaponry. Furthermore, you will be allowed to play co-operative with 3 friends if you choose to do so. This is a lot of fun as you can work together in a team, allowing you to come up with loads of different ideas to take out the Chinese PLA forces.
For those who like a challenge, play the mission "Hardcore". This game-type will remove your HUD; giving you no waypoints, taking away your crosshair, your compass and more. Leaving you and your team only left with a map and your brains.
