Oceanic QuakeCon Tournament groups released

Posted by Livia Liefje Teernstra on 2010-06-17 11:39:04
After what seems like forever (ok, technically only 4 weeks), the qualifying spots for the Oceanic QuakeCon tournament have all been filled and the groups have been released.

Notably Australia Andrew "Python" Chacha is missing from this tournament. He has decided to not participate, to give someone else from down under a chance to attend an international tournament.

Group A
Australia Peter "Ventz" Kiddson
Australia Dan "Dandaking" De Sousa
Australia Michal "rep" Czechowski
Australia Shannon "zpnq" Hall
Australia Guy "HANZ" Hampton
Australia Pablo "Pablo" Godinez

Group B
Australia Timothy "Zealor" Shey
Australia David "Zenaku" Adatti
Australia Nick "Nomey" Burfield
Australia Ed "_panther" Panther
Australia ??? "Ven_" ???
Australia Matthew "Xcope" Leeroy

The group stages start this Sunday the 20th of June and run for 1 week until Saturday the 26th. The finals will be on Sunday June 27.

If you're not too sure who these players are, there have been interviews with several of them released on 4Seasons Gaming. It's always interesting to see talent from other parts of the globe be able to come and compete against the best North American and European players, who have always dominated the Quake scene.

I know that the times might be a bit crazy for the Europeans, but it's still amazing to see such widespread support for Quake Live.

If you wish to help the cause, you can make a donation here.
