No CoD4 in third season UK EPS

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has officially announced the third season of the ESL Pro Series United Kingdom, hosted in cooperation with Dell and Intel.

Although the tournament schedule and prize distribution are still to be announced, the ESL has revealed that a total of €22,500 will be awarded in the games Counterstrike: Source, Quake Live, Trackmania Nations Forever and Counterstrike 1.6.

This also means that Call of Duty 4 will sadly not be a part of this season's list of games. It has been replaced by Counterstrike 1.6.

Unfortunately it's no surprise but it's a bitter disappointment for all of those who were pinning on some sort of EPS participantcy this season, I do hope we can finally shift over to EPS ladders to encourage a season 4, although it's a lot of work adapting to a system which is so unlike clanbase (admittedly easier, but still confusing).

But still, top quality quake duelers such as myself and Tim "revoltz" Denton will be bringing home the dollar for our other halves to live a life of luxury via the Quake Live EPS, so I'm well chuffed.

Oh my oh my. COD4 is the best FPS at this moment, by far. I don't even understand how Counter Strike is around tbh. It's a crappy game compared to COD4. Yet all the competitions are about CS...

Can't wait for Vita Nova to kick all the stupid organization's ass...

its that way for a very simple reason

1.6 is a bigger game
It's hitboxes are good and balanced, It has a stable and active community unlike the cod4 community that just falls apart the second there is no money in it

But yeah hilarious having 1.6 in the uk considering their peaks in 1.6 ^^
But Dignitas will probably bring home some cash from it

I can imagine 2 reasons why UK doesn't have COD4 in EPS.

1. COD4 activity is less than the other games
2. It has to do with COD4 being in EMS again and the available spots inside the EMS

CoD4 activity in terms of the UK scene is very high, do these team play a lot of ESL. Apparently not, if they did actively ESL would clearly use cod4
