Zhibo "Jibo" Fan has signed with NFINITY eSports to play TDM in a move that coincides with the long-anticipated launch of Russian QuakeLive servers. The Chinese star, who currently lives in Russia, will continue to be supported by Razer for 1v1 tournaments but will now line up alongside the likes of Krystof "Krysa" Cerny and Team Germany TDM captain Marcel "doz3r" von Thomsen for team events.
The addition of "Jibo" brings a wealth of experience to a team that already features a variety of old school names from the likes of mTw, 4K and c58. The side overcame their first test against a promising Excello squad, winning in two maps in their recent OpenCup game, and are expected to feature in the upcoming ESL TDM Major Series.
Team manager Andreas Johansson admitted he was "very happy and proud that [Jibo] decided to join... and try Quake Live out" in a statement given to TEK9. "Jibo will bring many years of experience from Quake 3" he explained, "since he's one of the top players in Russia, making sure Russia got a second place in the last Nation Cup".
The NFINITY QuakeLive TDM squad will now line up as follows.
Marcel "doz3r" von Thomsen Cristian "dk" Torrents Jan "jocko" Balada Krystof "Krysa" Cerny Mikael "mitch" Peo’ch Julien "nettah" Chapacou Maciej "zik" Jakuc Zhibo "Jibo" Fan
