After the Germans' recent success on LAN, with SPEED-LINK doing really well and reaching a top 8 finish, their closest national competitors have been making changes to their line-up for a very likely meet-up between these two greats in the next EPS 17 final.
mTw are the eternal bad boys of the Call of Duty 4 scene, due to their rather precarious online to LAN performance ration. So, even though mTw have won the latest EPS Season 16 title in Call of Duty 4, most people would still rate SPEED-LINK as the country's main team in a direct LAN match-up, because of the problems mTw have had on translating their online form to LAN.
With the next EPS Season about to start, they have decided to make a complete overhaul and test a new line-up with some of the team's core members leaving and other experienced Germans taking their place. First to leave the line-up was Richard "
HornYz" Horn, who has been considered the backbone of the line-up ever since mTw picked them up. He has just graduated and will be starting his future life and job and has chosen to start off fresh, leaving the gaming scene behind. The second member going is the team's only Austrian, Johannes "
JoTschY" Reiter who, on the other hand, will have to spend more time in the books the coming year to complete his education.
To replace these two long-standing members, the remaining mTw players sought to pick up some players of their last year's rivals, TBH, and hope they will offer them a fresh opportunity at becoming the best German team by far as well as finally breaking through at international LANs. First up is flamboyant TBH captain, Robert "
smithz" Krivka, who got some free time on his hands and wanted another shot at getting success in Call of Duty 4. He will be joined by his former team mate and until recently, Team Thermaltake caller, Moritz "
moe" Mencwel.
The team will be taking the following five players to a hoped EPS 17 Grand Final:
Roman "spow" Stolz (Manager)
Sebastian "Falli" Rotterdam (Manager)
Dennis "Plotsch" Diehle
Maurice "jEtLeCk" Bobon
Volkan "thunder" Kocakahya
Robert "smithz" Krivka
Moritz "moe" Mencwel
Statement by Sebastian "Falli" Rotterdam: "Today is a joyous occasion for both me and my new team! We are happy to be able to present you with our new line-up. After a fun EPS Season and taking the win in the end, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to Richard "HornYz" Horn and Johannes "JoTschY" Reiter. We had many talks with many good players, but today we are finally able to announce that our team has been set. Robert "smithz" Krivka and Moritz "moe" Mencwel will be taking charge under the mTw banner in the coming future. With the comeback of smithz, we have been able to complete a transaction that not many in the German as well as European community will have expected to happen. But the switch of moe is also a surprise, as he was found playing for Team Thermaltake at the Antwerp Esports Festival this wekeend and managed to play as one of the strongholds in the team. I am also pleased to be joining Roman "spow" Stolz and Simon A. "GODFTHR" Flick in managing this team. With this mix of players we are hoping to defend our EPS title in the coming season as well as belonging to one of the top teams in Europe."
