After over a hundred entrants were whittled down to just 2, the final of the CEVO EU Showdown was sure to be a hotly contested affair. It didn't disappoint, with British side LowLandLions facing off against the incredibly talented upstarts HWA.Tt.LowLandLions came into this match as the favourites, and on mp_citystreets it certainly seemed justly so. HWA.Tt could do little to stop the relentless onslaught of the talented Brits. After a short while they had dispatched HWA to a cost of a mere 4 rounds lost. The next map would be mp_crash, and LLL sought to close out the game swiftly in the same fashion as the first map.
However, one does not simply walk in the CEVO EU Showdown final. HWA.Tt hardened their resolve and came back with a vengeance on the second map. LLL had to play their absolute best, pulling every trick and tactic they new to clinch the map a nailbiting 13-11.
And with that match over, the tournament is now brought to a close. We've had a lot of ups and downs, and a set of final standings no-one could have predicted going into the tournament but a few short weeks ago. The top 8 places are as follows:

All in all, the CEVO EU showdown was an excellent tournament for both participators and spectators alike. It has given us some great upsets, memorable matches with some old stars fading and some new ones shining brighter than ever. On behalf of TEK9 and the CoD4 community I would like to that the organisers for a great tournament. We eagerly await the next edition!
