Live blog from AEF (Last update 12:35)

07/31 - 12:35 - Belive it or not, but we are actually ON SCHEDULE and slightly ahead! Woho, good job Bo and Will!

07/31 - 11:42 - Just found Visualize's intro for AEF and i really liked it, check it out!


07/31 - 10:16 - There seem to be some network problem with a gaming pc but Evgeny are right on it sorting it out so we will be right back on track in a moment, some matches are a bit delayed but we´ll catch up in the next couple of rounds as all the teams are setup and ready.

07/31 - 08:43 - Everyone is back in business for the morning games and the teams seem to be setting up their stuff well without problems so hopefully there will be no delays in the first couple of rounds.

The teams that are setting up are those from groups G and H for now, groups B and C starts playing at around 17.00 if everything goes according to schedule. Dignitas seems to be missing in action but as they are not playing the first round they got a 45 minute sleep-in, lucky bastards!

One thing i have noticed in the past couple of days, the people here in belgium seems to be shopping with cash only? In Sweden we ALWAYS use our VISA/Mastercards, there isnt many shops in Sweden that dont read cards, pain in the ass carrying around all these damn coins! :)

07/30 - 22:24 - Not really much to report overhere, most of the stuff is going on schedule with some minor delays due to setup problems, other people are chilling in the lounge drinking a beer or two and having a laugh with each other, others are playing games in the booths and seem to be having fun. If you havent visited yet you are definitely missing out on something so get your ass overhere tomorrow or for the finals on sunday!

07/30 - 14:58 - Sooo, i was wandering around looking for something to photograph when i suddenly stumbled upon fnatic being bored waiting for their next game, and as im the one taking pictures to tek-9 i just had to grab the camera and snap a photo of it, as we say in Sweden, starkt jobbat grabbar!

07/30 - 13:16 - Trying to upload pictures as fast as possible, the upload here maxes out at 140kb/s which compared to my 10mb/s at home really makes me cry :)

07/30 - 11:15 - Matches are going and everything seems to be flowing nicely, one ET match got a bit delayed but it seems to have been sorted now.

Currently uploading pictures so there will be a gallery up in a couple of minutes.


07/30 - 09:45 - The games have started (or will start soon) and most of the stuff seems to be working well it seems (except some sound settings), and we have managed to get the scoreboards and streams up on the site so i hope you enjoy!

If you wasnt here in Antwerp last night you definitely missed out on something, last night when i tried going to sleep (yeah some of us actually did go to sleep early, belive it or not) some loud guys in the room under us had a blast screaming, jumping into the wall and other stuff making it impossible to sleep. However karma always bites you in the ass and it sounded like they managed to (somehow) break a cabinet or something so all their plates or whatever it was went on the floor and just smashes into pieces, for some reason i actually enjoyed hearing that and all i heard after that was alot of WTF.

Another story is that when i was going to go to the event, i noticed someone had puked all over the hallway on floor 2 :p Good job who ever that was, it really stinks!

I'm sorting some pictures right now and will upload them a bit later, im also going to try to get wiz to do some interviews with my video camera later on.

I´ll keep you updated more often today so don´t worry.


07/29 - 16:10 - Nothing special to report yet, most of the stuff is in its place, some banners are still waiting to be hung on the wall. Marcus from YCN is having a blast installing the ET servers and he mentioned that the COD4 servers were done and ready. We are still waiting for Camiel to arrive though, gotdammit Jetset, get your ass overhere! :)

Probably wont be much more updating today so see you tomorrow and let the gaming begin!

07/29 - 11:33 - Got some sad news, my battery is out for my camera and i forgot the charger in the hotel, so no more pictures from today sadly. The good news though is that YCN just told me there is going to be live scorebots we can put on our site for each match that you can watch, how awsome isnt that?! :)

07/29 - 10:20 - So, after a late night and an early morning i got some stuff to tell you!

First of, someone whispered to me last night that wiz got a bit whipsy the other night, you go mate! Might have had something to do with Steven cheering him on to take some more and more and more :)

Other than that there isnt really much to report at the moment, the build-up is going fine and it will look awsome when its done i can tell you. The players are actually in their own area with a big fence (or how you now want to call it) going in and out of that area  for the visitors/audience so the players and audience will never mix together.

And last, there has been many questions about the monitors for the players on the forums, and i can now tell you that the monitors are ASUS VH242 24", looks pretty huge on the tables!

And the COD4 bracket can now be found here, Camiel apparently decided to remove it when i posted the last update :)


07/28 - 15:30 - Its that time of the year again, the time when all the geeks travel to antwerp to shoot some headshots and have some fun. I thought i would start of the blog as usual when im sitting here bored at the airport waiting for the plane to be boarded slightly worried i forgot to pack something.

I wont be updating this very much today, there might be one update later this evening, don't really know as there is supposed to be a crewmeeting this evening that i might not make it to in time, but tomorrow i'll be adding some build-up photos from the hangar you can drewl over so hang tight!
