The successful Finnish Warcraft III player
Joona "Konna" Parikka has officially announced he has decided to retire from Warcraft III after struggling to keep up his motivation in the past few months. The Finnish player had been a part of the International MeetYourMakers' Warcraft team and was considered to be one of the up and coming Orc players from the European scene.
Konna, who is also known for his time playing Call of Duty 2 with the Finnish Insignia Cadre team (dhamon, konna, sobuli, plaekki & sacrim), had been an integral part of MYM's Scandinavian Warcraft III team as well as the Finnish National team, with which he won the most recent ESL ENC Championships.
Statement Konna, www.mymym.com: "I have been struggling to keep my motivation up for WC3 in the past months. Due to my newly started studies my freetime has decreased and i feel like having almost no chance winning or even putting up a decent performance in any tournament anymore. Also the game is getting really tiring after no patch in a year. So i have decided to quit WarCraft III. I wanna thank Mercy, Army, Losemann, Maestro & MYM.WC3 / MYM for all the support i have been given during my one and half-year stay in the team. cu around."
Statement MYM Losemann, www.mymym.com: "I am sad that Joona will stop playing Warcraft, but I do understand that he will quit Warcraft, because it is taking a lot of time to be one of the world's best. I respect him very much, although he was a whining alot about other races. But I have an open ear for him always. I saw a lot of potential in this orc, for example I travelled to the Kode5 Germany to see him play and to support him. I would have done alot more if I had the time to do so. Good luck in the future and I hope to see the name Konna in some news related to Esports again. See you around!"
