After a victory at the Intel Extreme Masters European Championship last week, Serious Gaming's Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky continues his winning streak with a victory in the 10th edition of the GDATA Quake Cup, which featured a total of 128 players. In a tournament full of respected names from the Quake community, Cypher managed to make his way to the final with victories over Excello's Michael "madix" Hindersson, Gareth "GaRpY" Marshall from Team Dignitas, only to face his Serious Gaming teammate, Adrien "burnedd" Denis, in the Grand Final.
In what looks to be a very close Grand Final, Cypher was able to overcome his 15 year old opponent in a 3-2 game, taking home another €100 for his efforts.
The second tournament of the weekend, the 17th edition of the popular ZOTAC cups, attracted another set of high profile players, including Alessandro "stermy" Avallone, Marius "GUArd" Ivanauskas, Pelle "fazz" Söderman, Benjamin "calipt" Jakob, Gareth "GaRpY" Marshall and Marcel "k1llsen" Paul.
In the end it was Marcel "k1llsen" Paul who took first place, going through the tournament without losing a single map, taking down Hamid "pulseh" Alnasser, Daniel "a1r-r41d" Götell and Dan "zsx" Sanders.
