Jibo over uNleashed at IEM Asia

After only getting killed twice in the groupstages, Zhibo "Jibo" Fan qualifies for the Intel Extreme Masters Asian Championship Grand Final with a victory over Tahara "uNleashed" Naonobu.

With Lee "Gosia" Byungwook from South Korea unable to attend the event in Taipei, Taiwan due to a broken leg, tournament favorite Zhibo "Jibo" Fan only faced two opponents on his way to the playoff stages, defeating both Joe "Fenda" Fender (ZTN: 23-2 T7: 23--1), a UK native currently residing in Japan, and Utaro "Utal1ty" Ohno (T9: 42-0 DM6:35--1) from Japan with relative ease.

The first real challenge for the Chinese player came earlier this morning when he faced Japan's number one Quake player, Tahara "uNleashed" Naonobu, in a best-of-five matchup. The Japanse player, who finished second in his group behind Cyrus "proZaC" Malekani, could however not prevent Jibo from advancing to the Grand Final, hereby earning himself a ticket to the Intel Extreme Masters Global Finals at CeBIT in March.

Despite two fairly close scores on tourney9 and qzdm6, both finishing 8 to 4, Zhibo "Jibo" Fan moves on after a 3 to 0 game and is likely to face his main rival, Cyrus "proZaC" Malekani, in the Grand Final.
