insomnia40: Upperbracket final preview

After a day of non-stop Call of Duty 4, two teams stand undefeated.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we have reached the upperbracket final. It's just gone midnight, which means this has been a 14 hour long journey. We have an unlikely pairing in the final, but they both deserve their place. This is no feat of luck.

The first participant is United Kingdom Team Dignitas . Despite having only 4 players playing in the playoff stage, they have beaten off competition from No Return, 8th seed Zatu, and 4th seed vital.dBGamez. Their ire at Multiplay for refusing them to play with a stand-in seems to have spurred them on, with each player performing at the very top of his game.

This is where the surprise comes in. 6th seed watch and learn have persevered and played an outstanding tournament. They started off by topping their group, holding second seed fm! sapphire to a 12-12 draw. Working their way through the brackets, fate handed them another meeting with fm!, and this time fm! were in no such luck. An overtime drubbing saw fm! crash into the lowerbracket.

So that's how they got here. But what will we see tomorrow morning? Watch and learn have demonstrated that they can play with their heads. That, and the considerable LAN experience of some of their players will prove a real asset in capitalising on their man advantage against Dignitas. As long as they sit in and play sensibly, they should be able to put in a good show.

Dignitas, on the other hand, need to do precisely the opposite. They need to push hard and get the entry frags, bringing things back on their terms. This tactic proved very effective in their semi-final against vital, and if they replicate that here they could well be onto a winner.

cause if they drop a player, im sure that player will not be happy and will feel that he is the worst player in the team.

If wal still cant win with a man more.... cba...

Anyway they would be gentlemans if they just say, fuck it.. we allow you to use a 5th? Did no other team on lan, say the admins that dig should have a 5th? Doubt an admin can say no if for example 20 teams say they should use it.

O well, 4v5 now.. final 5v5 vs FM
