The final 8 spots in the playoff bracket have been decided, as groups A and B have finished. Groups A and B have 9 teams in each, compared to just 8 in Groups C and D. This has turned out to be both a blessing and a curse for the teams involved. A curse, because they have an extra game to play, meaning their group stage finished 2 hours after groups C and D. A blessing, because each team got an hour break when they did not have a match to play.
Group A saw top dogs
Team Dignitas in action. They were seeded 1st, and they started off well. However, they managed to get a draw against
Aire by only playing with 3 players. Group B turned out to be a much more interesting conflict. Second seed
Fragmasters were held to a draw by 6th seed
watch and learn, and so a frantic battle to gain round difference ensued. In the end, it was waL
that came out on top, with a full 28 more rounds than Fragmasters. This means they will have an easier route through the playoffs by qualifying as top of their group.
The final standings of groups A and B are as follows. Note that the teams in bold have qualified for the playoffs.
