The uploading is now finished and I can gladly say we have been overwhelmed with the amount of entries we have received. Over 100 movies have been uploaded to the FTP and it is also the reason we are now changing the way the voting will go down slightly. I think anyone can agree that adding 100+ movies at the same time is a massive job but will also overload the community with movies so we have decided to spread out the releasing of the movies. That is why we are excited to announce that starting tomorrow, you will be able to see 10 brand new AMD Minimovie Contest Entries and will be able to vote on them for the next seven days. Each day, starting tomorrow, 10 new movies will be released and from that point onwards votes can be cast using the TEK9 Site voting system on the movie page which will count towards their overall total. Important to know that only the votes registered
14 days after the release of the movie on TEK9 will be counted. That way a movie which was released first will have the same window for obtaining votes of 14 days as the last movie to get released.
To summarize* Starting tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd, 10 new movies will be released each day
* Voting of those movies can be done using the TEK9 Voting system (1-5 stars)
* Only votes cast in the 14 days after the release will be counted, votes after that can still be done but won't count towards the overall total for the contest
And I can also mention that after this contest we will have something else in store for you guys! ;-)

The rules say "Only votes cast in the 7 days after the release will be counted."
Does this mean movies released in the first 3 days will not be able to receive countable votes from people who have decided to view all movies before voting?
What if you like 10 of the first 50 movies, and vote them 5 stars. The next 50 movies might be 100x better than the first 50, but you can still only vote them 5 stars.
See where I’m going with this?
if their is not enoght time at the and to see all movies i think it would be fair to give the community 1-3 more days after all movies are released.
so all movies have the same voting time and the community can decide better if ALL movie are released ^^

As for the 5-star issue don't give out 5 stars that easily then :D You can also give half stars so you have a scale of 10 to go by. Use 8,5 or 9 for an absolutely awesome movie and that way you still have a 9,5 and 10 to hand out should something top that in the second part of the entries.
You could vote a first day movie 4 stars, and on the last day see ten awesome movies, and then think to yourself, "Damn, that movie in the first day should only really be a 3 compared to these movies."
And vice-versa. You could vote a first day movie 4 stars, and then never see anything as good, and think to yourself, "Damn, that movie in the first day should have been a 5 star compared to these."

My suggestion is that you either wait with opening votes until all movies are released. This means that you first have a period during which you release the movies. After all movies are released people are allowed to vote for their favorite.
My other suggestion, and actually the one I prefer, is that you release 10 movies each day, you can vote for those movies in 24 hours, meaning, you can vote untill the next bunch of movies is released. You that way elect a winner (or two) for each day, these contributions move to the finals.
Seriously, it will be really unfair to do the way you suggested. I bet $1k that less than 10% would actually wait 2 weeks to vote just to be fair to all contestants and not just voting for their favorite at the moment.
To sum up, either release all movies before any voting is allowed or release small chunks of movies (10 per day as you say is perfect) and let people vote on their favorite in each chunk.
Then the jury or us watchers vote for the final winner.
Go vote and gl everyone !:)
10 groups of 10 movies each, top2 from each group (after the 7 day vote period) goes on to a second and final stage.
The best 20 movies would now be ready for a final poll, let's say each user gets to chose his top3 (by leaving a comment for example). Votes are counted in the end, et voilá!
I believe this would be a more balanced system than the one above.
... i think

There has been more than 100 contributions to this contest and with this new voting system, 10 movies from the contest will be released each day, in seven days (that makes it 70 movies?). Anyway, doesn't that mean that the 10 movies that get released first, will get more views - and therefore more ratings and votes - compared to a movie that gets released on the last day?
