Our prayers have been answered and the Multiplay staff are back once more after they just announced that their upcoming event i39 will have a confirmed prize purse of
£2,500 for Call of Duty 4. If over 96 teams enter this prize purse will even be extended to £5,000 although that might be unlikely. This is definately a big change from the last event where they were quick to announce the first ever Modern Warfare 2 tournament in the world, which ended in disaster.
They have learned from the past however and are now coming back to Call of Duty 4 for their next event, something the community can only applaud and fully support.
Our colleagues over at Cadred.org also asked the Multiplay staff some important questions:
This represents a potentially significant increase in the prize fund from recent events. How is this being achieved? This isn't a huge difference to how we've provided prize funds in the past, i.e. rewarding communities that show commitment to the events and tournaments. Simply, the communities that rally themselves and support the event will be rewarded with us increasing their prize fund. Bear in mind these first figures are the base guarenteed values only, and we are working hard to achieve higher prize funds from other sources and sponsors, like we did for CS:S at i38. With it being the holiday season, most potential sponsors have been on shutdown for the best part of a month, meaning from this week onwards is the first real opportunity we have to get stuck in to secure further support.
Have all the outstanding prize monies from i38 been paid out yet? If I am still awaiting mine what can I do to facilitate the process?Unfortunately things are still very difficult in the current economic climate, and we are having to pay prize money in extent with the full allowance of our policy, which is 6 months from the event. This means prize money is due to be paid in February and May for i37 and i38 respectively. We certainly do not like having to delay payments but it is an unfortunate sign of the times. We saw significant signs of recovery in the commerical support of our events at i38, and there is every indication this is going to continue into 2010.This being the case we hope to get back on track to where we were with prize money payments before the recession hit.
How will the prize money be divided?Prize support will be for the top 8 teams of CSS and CoD4, and the top 3/4 for the others. We will be publishing the full split of the tournaments when the information pages and signups launch next week.

Somebody's smart and is feeding on your money IN YOUR FACE
its obvious they make a load of money or why else would they put 1 on every few months?
they must have made deals with all parties concerned by now judging by the number of them they have put on, you can't plan an event that big in a few months unless everything is already in place and you just contact the same people time and time again
