After the success of their first European LAN, the Czech organisation of Grunex have returned, teaming up with BENQ to bring you the BENQ Grunex EU LAN #2. With some of the best teams to date currently confirmed to attend, it has already shown the possibility of being the best LAN of the year.
The entrance fee is a reasonable €350 for a team of five, with the option of bringing two managers along with you. The organisers have confirmed that the Battlezone Gamehall in Prague, Czech Republic will continue as the host after a positive response from the community. The date will be from the 11th - 12th February and will start at 9am Saturday providing 24 teams have paid.
The event will naturally be Turn Up and Play (TUP) therefore allowing people to leave their computers in the comfort of their own homes. The minimum ammount of teams for the first prize trigger to become active is sixteen, which will see the top three teams walk away with a share of €3000. Eight more teams will see a €2000 rise as the second trigger will then go live.
European LANs have come under fire with the lack of games that teams are able to play during the groupstages. With two groups of eight or 4 groups of six confirmed, you will get a minimum of five games during your stay in the Czech Republic providing the appropriate prize trigger is met.
With long flights, early starts and 2 days of gaming, free energy drinks will be at your disposal to help cure you of the tiredness which is sure to be endured. Once the weekend is over and the winners are announced, pizemoney will be paid out in full to each person who has earnt their share.
