GGL sale not a done deal (yet)

Posted by Steven dfb Leunens on 2010-02-04 14:36:53
PrismOne has announced their definitive agreement to purchase the Global Gaming League

Yesterday CNN reported that PrismOne, a company based in Florida providing managed technology services, has outlined their definitive agreement to purchase the GGL. The purchase agreement includes $2.5 million dollars of initial financing but currently does not mention the unpaid debts that the GGL and Clanbase have towards gaming teams (prize money) and Game Hosting. Unlike many think, the deal has not yet been finalized and a 90 day due-dilligence is taking place. TEK9 decided to grab Mads Ehrhardt, manager of Clanbase (which is part of the GGL) for a couple of quick questions concerning the deal. Since they are dealing with a publicly listed company, Mads couldn't go into much details but told us: "I have high hopes for the entire deal and where that can bring the company and it is good for the overall gaming community business as well."

Furthermore he also explained: "The deal is not a done deal yet. First due-dilligence will have to take place, and then after this period expected to be around 90 days, we expect to close the deal."

It looks like the deal is very likely to happen but not fully confirmed yet. However this brings a surge of new hope to the gaming teams who had already concluded that their money would be lost.

PrismOne Chairman and CEO Samir Burshan said: "This new GGL direction is an exciting growth opportunity for our company. GGL has more than 2.7 million registered members."

GGL Chairman Ted Owen commented: "The PrismOne acquisition and upcoming GGL website overhaul are key components as GGL significantly expands to a massive slate of offerings for consumers, publishers, developers and advertisers. GGL’s goal of delivering the most comprehensive online experience for gamers across all platforms, genres, gaming styles in a relevant, customized social-networking environment is rapidly becoming a reality. We are looking forward to welcoming and introducing the PMOZ shareholders to our robust family of GGL services as we aim to become the 'Facebook' meeting place for online gaming and related activities."

if you buy a company you also buy their debts, meaning they need to be paid off.

Doesn't change anything. CB admins will still consist of thirdies who wouldn't know the first thing about gaming and/or sportsmanship; it shall remain conflictbase forever more.

You seriously can't say that the situation is that horrid thanks to the fact that some CB admins are originated from Eastern Europe. Would rather say the individuals are mentally retarded.

Edit: Can't spell properly for first try :)
