GameTech Forms Out Of SMACK And auRic Remains

One team's death is another's time to rise up and form out of the ashes before them. GameTech is a team like that, with the core of the former SMACK Gaming line-up gathering friends and talents in the Danish scene to hopefully stay for a long while.

SMACK Gaming have had some mixed results as of late and could not find the proper fifth to continue playing with and get back on the saddle after a somewhat disappointing performance, being knocked out in the Group Stage. auRic on the other hand, did better but struggled with line-up problems recently, after Anton "ANTZ" Standert dropped out of the team and subsequent problems to keep the team afloat failed.

Thus Jacob "zabo" Zabo rallied the troops and they quickly ended up with a strong four-man line-up, combining the motivated parts of both SMACK Gaming and auRic to form a new potentially top team in the Danish low lands. Needing only one more player, they quickly ended on Mik "champ" Bødtker's doorstep and the former Roskilde Ravens player had no problems becoming the team's fifth.

The team will be representing GameTech, a relatively unknown Danish organisation that is looking to send the team to the more local events, such as the already announced TheBlast event in May, 2011 first, to hopefully send them outside of the country's borders to some of Europe's bigger LANs in 2011.

Former auRic player, Stefan "Guana" Geisler, gave TEK9 the following statement about GameTech's new team:

"After a long period with line-up problems in auRic, we decided to pull the plug, as most of you know - even though none of us had lost the motivation to continue playing. That resulting in some chitchat among old friends within the Danish community, and the idea of making a Danish team was also really appealing, as it makes communication, bootcamping, etc. easier. We started playing some matches together, and immediately we felt how nice it went, both in-game and socially, so we decided to make a team. In the mean time I had some contact to ReazoN of GameTech eSports, as we of course needed an organization, and that’s why I am proud to be announcing today, the new GameTech CoD4 team. We hope for a long and successful cooperation, with good results and cool experiences. Thanks to GameTech eSports for giving us the chance, and thanks to Zabo for taking the initiative to gather us!"
