Gamers Portal With Further Updates

With the Gamers Portal website looking to be a combination of the social network desires you are accustom to from your Facebook or Twitter and the gaming needs of all of us here, the coders and managers of the project have been busy trying to implement more changes so as you can enjoy the feel and look of the website even more.

One of the first things they decided to add was a way to create groups, a bond between people who share similar views on a particular subject or theme which is not only limiteid to what gaming team you represent. You can start creating them or join up with some that you find interesting.

A more appealing feature is the way they allow for users to share URLs on the friend stream, where they are now more neatly packaged and should come across as more user friendly. However, the biggest change is surely the creation and implementation of a real-time chat manager.

You can chat with your team mates, with other gaming friends or even go broader than that and join one of the chat channels for specific games and talk to all others who enjoy the same one. All of this happens in your browser in real-time, whilst you can carry on surfing the website and visit other friends' profiles without having to log in for the chat each time.

Some of the things the crew is working on right now is a more improved dashboard, one that will look cleaner and easier to navigate through. Another measurement is to increase the clan awareness by offering easier and better ways for the clan page to create news and or publish items about the team and its players.

I wouldn't say that, it's still in invite-only phase and hasn't even started yet. ;)

With the addition of chat manager and groups, handling more people shouldn't be a problem anymore as you can now leave/join channels at will.

Feedback is welcome!
