Posted by Bob Bcrbo Van de Voorde on 2011-10-04 17:22:03

The people over at Gamers Portal are great fans of the Battlefield series and therefore, with the upcoming release of the newest title, want to up the hype a bit by hosting the first live Round Table discussion with the game at the center of discussion as well as some live gameplay footage.

The public is slowly becoming more and more aware of the new Battlefield 3 game, with more and more people gaining access to the beta and experiencing some of the first gameplay footage. The people of Gamers Portal wanted to create a big event where they gather some of the most knowledgable Battlefield players and community figures from the United States to discuss the game, its potential as well as show off some of the footage.

It will all start off at 23h00 CEST (18h00 EDT) with three Battlefield YouTube personalities showing off some of their skills and handing out tips and explaining the whole process behind it. The next hour will be devoted to top teams and players discussing their first impressions of the latest title and what its eSports potential might be.

Press Release on Gamers Portal:

" Welcome to “The Return of Competitive Battlefield 3”, the first competitive Battlefield 3 LIVE-audio round-table discussion with high caliber teams and community leaders! There’s no such thing as ‘too much talk’ when it comes to Battlefield, it’s about time the Battlefield community takes it rightful place at the top of the eSports food chain and that first step? Get the conversation started.

This 2-part event (view schedule on the left) will kick off the competitive beginnings of Battlefield 3. Some know what the Alpha was, many know the Listen in as our panelists dive into discussions of weapon damages, squad perks, tips & tricks on how they dominate, and maybe, just maybe, CoD vs. BF get addressed once and for all. /rage

Panelists will also be fielding questions from YOU, the audience. Moderators will be addressing specific topics, and relevant attendee(that’s you) questions will be submitted to our panelists. (There will be an open session as well) During the event, Sgt. Engima will be LIVE casting Battlefield 3 gameplay so you can sit back and maybe learn a thing or two. While you are at the event, take a look at the charity we support (left-side) and do some good if you can.

The first panel begins @ 18:00 EDT and WILL start on time. This will be one event you won't want to miss, because you never know who might tune in!"

The game has potential to be quite good, but if it's main game mode is rush, and more importantly if they won't fix the squad system, and it seems they won't. It will suffer the same fate as bc2. Same old shit with modern fps games.

Well for proper fans of the series, it's about playing with mates in a squad and working together, which is part of the reason it stands apart from the cod series.
