With IEM Cologne and Quakecon now behind us, the G7 Teams have released an updated QuakeLive ranking with a familiar name on top. SK's Shane "rapha" Hendrixson, now with two major titles to his name, remains the man to beat in QuakeLive and is the obvious choice for the number one spot here. His notable rivals fill out the remainder of the top five, with Richard "noctis" Gansterer leapfrogging Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky into the third spot after his performance at the IEM.

The sixth spot is claimed by
Tim "DaHang" Fogarty after an impressive showing at Quakecon while the remaing positions are distributed as joint seventh to the lower finishers at both events. Notable absentees include Polish star Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski, who will surely make the top five with more game time, and the Russian players who performed strongly at the ASUS Summer Cup and have yet to make the switch from Quake 3 to QuakeLive.

For now though it's "rapha" out in front by nearly 100 points and the chasing pack struggling to get anywhere near him. "spart1e" and "noctis", in second and third respectively, have posed the main threat to the American's reign thus far but there's no denying that eighteen year old "Cypher", should he step up his practice regime, has the raw talent to surpass them all. "rapha" did overcame the Belarusian at Quakecon but it's only a matter of time before their paths cross again.

The rankings, reproduced below, are based on a points system with points allocated for placing at major tournaments.

Place   Name Points
1. United States Shane "rapha" Hendrixson 180
2. Sweden Sebastian "spart1e" Siira 98.25
3. Austria Richard "noctis" Gansterer 63
4. Belarus Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky 36
5. Sweden Magnus "fox" Olsson 31.25
6. United States Tim "DaHang" Fogarty 24
7. Italy Alessandro "stermy" Avallone 5
7. United States Brian "dkt" Flander 5
7. CanadaThomas "Griffin" Wall 5
7. Netherlands Jeffrey "draven" Debipersad    5
7. Germany Oleg "d1ablo" Kogut 5
7. France Kevin "STRENX" Baeza 5
7. Germany Benjamin "calipt" Jakob 5

The rankings might seem odd but it's just because there have been only two ranked events so far. It will become more accurate over time.

These rankings are based on QL performance, not Quake III. All those players you mentioned did better than k1llsen.

not really, k1llsen came 9th-12th at QuakeCon or so, i am sure that counts more as placing outside of the top4 at this EM SuperCup? where you only had 4 players of the same caliber (am not saying they are bad, just that k1llsen's performance warrants a better spot in this ranking)

and i know it'sn ot based on q3
