Top gaming organisation fnatic have recently announced the step up of their Source team from the academy ranks to professional status. The team have come on in leaps and bounds after they joined fnatic back in February with a recent win at the SLAP LIVE #13 last month taking down Danish opponents MeetYouMakers in the grand finals. They have not long started to play in the ESL Major Series after a first place ranking in Insignia-Cadre’s top ten Counter Strike: Source rankings released last month.

Under the professional rank of fnatic, the Dutch based team will earn a salary and make a living out of what they do best, gaming. With this in mind, fnatic leaves the Pro Evolution Soccer and Unreal Tournament sections under the academy name as the Source line-up join the likes of Quake and Counter Strike in the professional ranks. The line-up remains the same with a solid five players planning on doing even better in the future both online and offline.

Statement fnatic Managing Director zr0 www.fnatic.com: "When Blaze first started bugging me on MSN back in the beginning of the year I was adamant that fnatic would not take on a Source team. However after many more months of Blaze spamming me on MSN, we decided as a team that this would be the perfect opportunity to add our first academy team; Counter Strike: Source. Blaze was a remarkable player when he was in fnatic at the very beginning - when he played Call of Duty and after some research I had strong faith in the team of players that he had and where they were going.

I think it was a gamble that has rewarded fnatic significantly over the last months, both from a results point of view but also because they are the perfect representatives of fnatic players. They are professional, mature, focused and FUN; this is why I am extremely happy to be making this team finally part of the fnatic Professionals!"

Statement AirRaid www.fnatic.com: "We are extremely happy to be in Fnatic Professional now, with the upgraded support we can focus on just playing Counter Strike: Source even more to try and keep dominating the European elite scene, like we have been doing the last months."

Good luck to the team in future.
