Kevin "strenx" Baeza has been unveiled as the latest addition to fnatic's allstar QuakeLive squad. The French player, famed for his prodigious lightning gun play, joins after strong performances online in both the recent Excello cup and ESL's KOTH event. The latter saw him overcome the likes of Richard "noctis" Gansterer and Marcel "k1llsen" Paul to claim the top spot and attract the attention of Europe's big names.
"I'm so happy to join a structure like Fnatic... it's a total honour" admits an overjoyed Baeza, who will have a new weight of expectation on his shoulders following the high profile move. "I get to train duel with Spartie, and play 2on2's with linkin" he adds, "what else can I ask for?".
His addition does raise the question of why fnatic didn't opt to pursue another available European talent though, one in fact who beat "strenx" 16 - 2, 8 - 2 the last time they met at a major offline event. Marcus "fox" Olsson remains without a team and fnatic's decision to move instead for the eighteen year old French player suggests that the Swede was out of their budget or, more interestingly, he has already secured a new home.
For now fnatic's QuakeLive squad will line up as follows.
Alessandro "Stermy" Avallone Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira Pierre-Emeric "link1n" Portier David "deus" Kinnaird Kevin "strenx" Baeza
