The guys over at Euro Cups have been tirelessly providing the community with high quality CoD4 tournaments for over 2 years now, and their recently announced latest cup promises to be no different. That's right, Euro Cups have returned to provide you with yet another tournament, this time sponsored by PowerColor. PowerColor are one of the leading providers of AMD Radeon graphics cards, and as such have provided 5 of their high quality graphics cards as prizes for the winning team of the CoD4 PowerCup. Rather bizzarely, they are all different cards: ranging from the £200+ price range down to the discontinued 5870 line.
1st place will receive:
1x 2GB PCS++ 6950
1x 1GB PCS+ 6870
1x 1GB PCS+ 6850
1x 1GB 6790
1x 1GB PCS+5870
I'm sure the winning team will have fun deciding who gets what! However, the fact remains that they are all amazing prizes, and given that the tournament is free to enter it is surely worth your while doing so. The competition will be a Single Elimination knockout cup, with maps decided by veto. The early rounds will be Bo1, while the semi finals and grand final will be Bo3. Matches will be played between July 31st and August 15th. The cup has a massive 128 slots, but given how popular past Euro Cups tournaments have been I would sign up quickly to avoid disappointment nonetheless!
While nothing has been announced yet, Euro Cups are looking to stream the semi finals and the finals of this prestigious event. Given it's running time just before the summer LANs, it is sure to provide excellent practice for all you potential LAN attendees.

its powercolor's decision, there is nothing to do about it. Anyways, there is a chuck norris style solution about that situation > who dies less then other team players during the cup, he/she/it deserves 6950 :P

The 5870 depending which model is actually sick and outperforms the original release versions of the 6870 card and depending which 6850 you can unlock to 6870 performance. 6950 is the best card there and 6790 is the worst, but it is still a very high level mid-range card and should do a great job for COD4.
need more polish, hungarian, czech and benelux teams!!!
