The Organizing Committee of the Electronic Sports World Cup will be inviting three more professional players and teams to participate in the ESWC Grand Finals that will be held in Paris, France. The invites will be selected by the organizing comittee from the countries without national qualifiers and are based on their past achievements, motivation and capacity to attend.
This means that the tournament will have 16 slots for Quake Live players, including three autoberths, which will be announced on the 31st of May. The deadline of applications for this years's ESWC Finals has been extended to the 28th of May. Additionally, it has been revealed that the invited participants will be provided with an accommodation from June 30th (arrival) to July 5th (departure) and only need to cover their travel expenses.
For now, the following Quake Live participants have been confirmed:
Cypher (ESWC 2008 champion)
