The ESL Major Series Season 6 has only finished a couple of days ago with an exciting match between Team-Dignitas and mTw, with the former beating the Germans across three maps and taking home €400 for first place. Today, ESL announces how they will split the slots for the upcoming Season 7, based on the rankings of the nations in the last seasons.
More importantly for most involved, however, will be the prize purse of this season's league. Originally, we were awarded a €2 000 prize purse, which was already double of what we had in Season 6. After having won the ESL Community's Choice poll, Call of Duty 4 walks away with another €1 000 and will now feature a total prize purse of €3 000, which is quite a nifty sum for a completely online-based league.
With this news, it also means that the qualifiers and invites will be made public in the coming days and weeks. First, however, they announced the way the qualifiers and invites work. The top four of Season 6 are automatically invited and that means that Team-Dignitas, mTw, OX-Gaming and Power Gaming will be seen competing in Season 7 without any hassle.
The following table might further clear up which countries receive how many invites, how many teams to be placed in the First or Second Qualifying Round:

On top of all that, there are some further and important rule changes. Because of the extra €1 000, Call of Duty 4 now finds itself in a new situation and ESL says this requires some changes to the many teams wishing to participate. First of all, all the teams who will eventually compete in the seventh season of the EMS will need to have a Premium account status, otherwise the team might receive Penalty Points or even a disqualification in the end. Moreover, all the penalty points a team collects across the Season, will play a role in how much of the eventual prize money they receive on their bank accounts, each penalty point will mean a certain reduction in the prize money, so they are urging you to follow the rules correctly, to avoid losing money by the season's ending.

Wegame to take the danish spot! hopefully
In addition, does Belarus, Switzerland or Austria have any decent team in this game?
What about this whole cup. I fully understand, that ESL wants to have some money as a proffit from this cup, but in Poland atm there are only 3 participants. Admins from cod4 channels require playing a lot of ESL. So how the hell you want to make it more popular among the community by taking cash for some shit premium accounts, that will be useless after this cup ends. Reconsider the whole idea of ESL and maybe put some improvements to its structure. Its only my opinion, do not flame me for this one :)
on lan u have to pay entrance too and in % the money u get back on lan is much smaler ;O
What about LAN - I can not agree, because mostly people enjoy LAN events more than playing online, what is a routine. So they do not mind that they paid for LAN a lot and didn't even win a bit :)
9 euros :E
:'<
- buy it yourself/get it from your clan
- participate in other event and win it.
- maybe the national section settle it as a prize for the teams who qualifies ( up to the section admin)
And to be honest like others already posted compared to the prize money its a small fee.
UK Qualifier
