ESL have revealed that next month's IEM World Championship at CeBIT will feature $170,000 in prize money, with $20,000 given over to QuakeLive. The news confirms rumours that ESL had secured an impressive prize fund for the IEM season finale with more than double that of the EU event in Cologne on offer and $10,000 set aside for the eventual QuakeLive world champion.
The prize breakdown means that Shane "rapha" Hendrixson will have to do no more than progress from his group to maintain his status as QuakeLive's number one earner but IEM EU champ Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky will also have the tantalising prospect of taking his own total earnings to $19,000 if he can claim first place.
ESL also finalised the QuakeLive tournament format, with two groups of six and the top three from each progressing. Group winners will have a guaranteed spot in the last four while the remaining four qualifiers will face off for the other semi final berts. Group games will use a best-of-three format with best-of-five reserved for the playoffs as ESL continue to stick by their single elimination format.

when first prize at 10.000 on esl Call of Duty 4 ?
Question is tho: Can they pay them out?
ESL always pay out, it just takes time to amass that much money from various different sponsors. They're working on it being quicker!
