There seemed to be a lot of confusion regarding the prize money for the CoD4 tournament... What was it? Who gets what, was it at the event? Somehow in all the hustle and bustle of the event the one thing on the players minds had been forgotten about.
I grabbed a passing Thomas "qdk" Hjorth and enquired into what exactly was going on. He declared the prize fund for the Call of Duty 4 tournament would be €5000 in total based on the amount of teams that attended. It was also confirmed that the break down would look like this:
1st: €3000
2nd: €1500
3rd: €500
With the grand final about to get underway some of the players inquired if they would be paid in cash at the event. That was the original plan however someone had neglected to go to the bank and get the cash. The players looked at each other before one commented "we've heard that before you know..."
Thomas did personally assure a quick pay-out and intimated it might be possible to get the money tomorrow if any representatives from the team remained.
EDIT
After the tournament finished it was then later decided after what looked like a player meeting that the prize money distribution would be changed. The only team affected negatively were Power Gaming who went from thinking they had won €1500 to knowing they had won €1200. They didn't complain but the €300 was split to bolster fnatic's prize and to give something for 4th place, Blight Gaming.
The new distribution is:
1st: €3000
2nd: €1200
3rd: €600
4th: €200
Dont know why they changed the money distribution, but for me i can only respect Power gamings players for not whining.
