Possibly the biggest event of the up-coming new year has today been confirmed in the sunny location of Vác, situated just 34 kilometres north of Budapest. The event will see a possible 48 team capacity alongside a promising €10,000 euro prize fund if all the prize triggers are activated.
Although the event has been public knowledge for the past few months with many teams already committing themselves officially, the organizers have been careful to hold back the official announcement until everything was fully confirmed. It is with great pleasure that I can today state that the event will be kicking off on April 6th at 20:00CET, with the payments for the first period now open via paypal.
The competition will not just be limited to Call of Duty 4, but will in fact play host to two, possibly three eSports titles including Counter-Strike 1.6, and if enough interest is shown, CS:GO with €5,000 being given for twenty four fully paid teams and €10,000 being given for forty eight.
The event itself will take place in the northern town of Vác situated just 34 kilometres north of the capital, making it a near ideal location for a LAN to take place. Careful thought has been included in the planning of the event seeing a free shuttle bus service running bringing teams from the airport and rail services to the doorstop of the event reducing travel costs for all participants. Alongside the travel services the organizers have also arranged easy, accessible and economical accommodation options for just €25-30 euro's per day per person which can be purchased straight from the event management.
The current Call of Duty 4 titans of Anexis have already fully committed to the event with thirteen more including Fnatic, Rock.ASUS and Fragmasters planning to be in attendance. The official team list also shows an impressive twenty nine interested teams with more expected to follow as payments are finalized.
Throughout the weekend KaosTV will be in attendance, although precise details are yet to be announced, alongside a dedicated TEK9 journalist providing you live coverage throughout the weekend.
Anyone has a question, add me on xfire: stripzz
Would like to know more about this. What kind of hotel / hostel is it? If it's crap, what's the price of better accommodation?
