Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty staked his claim for the title of USA's #1 after another big win over Shane "rapha" Hendrixson. The IEM North American champion extended his winning streak versus his SK rival last night as he staged a dramatic comeback from the lower bracket of the Silent Gamers cup to claim the $200 top prize. The EG star needed to win two best-of-five series after an earlier loss to Chris "tehnewbz" Messer but looked in clinical form as he edged past Hendrixson 3-1 and 3-2 in the grand final.
Both players looked capable of pulling off the sublime at times but neither can claim to have produced an error-free display. Europe's top stars will take heart from the inconsistency on show from North America's big names this weekend and, with less than a fortnight before the IEM global finals, the pair will be expected to step up their game if they are to live up to the weight of expectation laid on them.
Three-times QuakeCon champion John "ZeRo4" Hill also made an apperance this weekend after stepping up his practice regime in recent weeks. The former clan519 legend looked sharp as he battled to the upper bracket final but was eventually outclassed by both the eventual finalists. The jury remains out on the 25 year old but signs of promises are there.

not dissing the +backward as a legitimate strategy, but it's boring.
will be interesting to see what kind of damage they can do at the extreme masters next week.
