DaHanG too good for rapha in SG finals

Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty staked his claim for the title of USA's #1 after another big win over Shane "rapha" Hendrixson.

The IEM North American champion extended his winning streak versus his SK rival last night as he staged a dramatic comeback from the lower bracket of the Silent Gamers cup to claim the $200 top prize. The EG star needed to win two best-of-five series after an earlier loss to Chris "tehnewbz" Messer but looked in clinical form as he edged past Hendrixson 3-1 and 3-2 in the grand final.

Both players looked capable of pulling off the sublime at times but neither can claim to have produced an error-free display. Europe's top stars will take heart from the inconsistency on show from North America's big names this weekend and, with less than a fortnight before the IEM global finals, the pair will be expected to step up their game if they are to live up to the weight of expectation laid on them.

Three-times QuakeCon champion John "ZeRo4" Hill also made an apperance this weekend after stepping up his practice regime in recent weeks. The former clan519 legend looked sharp as he battled to the upper bracket final but was eventually outclassed by both the eventual finalists. The jury remains out on the 25 year old but signs of promises are there.

VODs from the tournament will be online shortly on USTREAM.tv.

watched the first bo5 in the final, DaHanG really is a smart player.. very defensive when he's in the lead, and ninja like fuck when he's being chased down.. he also hit most of his rails in the last couple of games (especially against zero4), while rapha couldn't seem to land any of them.

will be interesting to see what kind of damage they can do at the extreme masters next week.

gonna be outclassed by the europeans imo, rapha not as consistent as he was before, but maybe they will sort it out :)

Both are great players, however DaHanG currently tops out. Second bo5 (dm6) rapha brought it to OT in the last second, was awsome to see! Nice match!

it has been said on the stream, but they played an online cup with "internet"-ping so if the rails do not land online, doesnt mean they wont land @ LAN which is a huge factor iMo

europes will dominate anyway btw ;D
