After a promising first season CyberGamer are back and looking to combat the issues that arose the first time around, seeing allotted match days, wild cards and emergency "panic changes". The goals are aimed to promote not just our scene as a whole to potential sponsors, but also to aid in the overall longevity of the game, placing an emphasis on stability.
The previous season had some rocky foundations; few could deny that after seeing nearly half of the upper Invite League folding and sights such as ballers storming ahead in CGa despite their late entry due to revised points system. However, overlooking the negatives for a moment it's hard to say it wasn't a success. At last we, the Call of Duty Promod scene had a league, something we have been left without for a long time and it's safe to say it gave the community structure, something tangible to aspire too and a rather juicy carrot at the end of the stick, the €1,500 prize pot.
On Monday 16th January the second season will commence, spreading out over an eight week period seeing teams playing two or three maps a week depending on league placement. One of the biggest changes seen is the introduction of allotted default match days, these being on Thursday between 19:30-20:30CET or Sunday between 20:00-22:00CET. CGm has also undertaken a minor change bringing the bracket capacity to twenty four, down from twenty five.
Despite the allotted playing times matches can be rearranged between teams via the match comments, but have to be played by the end of the week. Teams each possess six wild cards which they can choose to use anytime during the season, but must also be stated in the match comments. If teams make no effort to schedule the match they will suffer a warning and a default loss, after three warning the possibility of removal is considered.
Minor changes have also been introduced to roster management, starting off with a team capacity cap of seven. Only one roster change is allowed per month, with individual players only allowed to change teams once per season. Every team will possess one "panic change", allowing three roster changes to be used during the month selected. A team captain must be designated to commence changes to rosters and to initiate the panic charge.
You can find the reasons behind these changes here.
GL all :)
You've said that multiple times in streams & news posts.. don't know what you mean as we didn't enter the ladder late. We started playing the ladder on 5th October, ladder closed in December. Point system changed after Season 1.
I know it doesn't apply just to you, you're the only team in my head that stepped out.
Due to him, Jeremy our developer and the other admins who helped out during the first season, we now have the pleasure of hosting a 2nd Season and with the new and improved rule set and format changes, I truly hope that all of the participating teams wont take this season for granted.
Be sure to thank the individuals who work voluntarily every single day to provide you all with a league to play in.
gl to everyone
