Cooller, rapha and more to play at IEM Dubai

ESL have unveiled a stellar lineup for the upcoming IEM Dubai QuakeLive tournament including reigning champion Shane "rapha" Hendrixson and, as hinted at, the Russian sensation Anton "Cooller" Singov. The event is set to kick off on the 24th of October and will feature a strong showing from both Europe and North America with the likes of Richard "noctis" Gansterer, Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky, Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty and more all making the trip to the United Arab Emirates.

The event now looks set to answer a number of interesting questions, not least of which being the potential of the Eastern players to shine in QuakeLive. "Cooller", "Cypher" and even "Jibo" have all set the Quake scene alight at one stage or another in their illustrious careers but all three have yet to make their mark in QuakeLive. Dubai will offer them that chance and the one player they will all want to take down is the seemingly unstoppable Shane "rapha" Hendrixson. Also on his tail in Dubai are the hot talents of fnatic and the, for now, clanless pair of "fox" and "noctis".

ESL pointed to the "overwhelming interest and amount of applications" in their decision to expand the tournament to sixteen players and now plan to run four groups with the top two from each advancing to the single elimination playoffs. The map list sees T4 left out in favour of DM9 as well as the standard DM6, ZTN, DM13 and T7. ESL-TV's fan favourites James Harding and Joe Miller have also been tipped to cover the event later this month.
