Posted by Steven dfb Leunens on 2010-02-10 19:18:36

With plenty of time for mapmakers to work on their maps, today we launch the competition page where the participants can upload their maps and where registered users can vote and thus help decide the winning maps who will get a wonderful Sennheiser headset.

How do you upload your map?
1. Create several interesting screenshots of your map (max five)
2. Create a .rar file with your map and any other files you want to include (like a readme with some extra info)
3. Go to the competition page and upload your contribution!
4. Upload your map and images and you are done! Good luck!

Timeline

Mapmakers can upload their entries during the coming two weeks, until the 24th of February. Voting can be done until the 10th of March after which the winners will be decided by community votes and an expert admin panel.

we can remove them quite easily should anything be wrong + we already have a good idea of who will contribute a map :)

Not that many really as COD4 map making is hard. I'm guessing anything above five would be good but if we get two maps out of it which are viable for competitive play or even one it will have been worth it ;-)

It really ain't hard, you just have to be willing to spend time and effort in it.
And try to stay motivated, that's what got me quiting cod4mapping

Took me aprox. 10hours to learn the basics + more

Thought as much, also are maps like smalltown constantly changing? I mean it keeps being tweaked etc.

Are the maps being marked on potential also? I mean the maps need some good play time on them so people can tweak like whats happened on smalltown, if it wasn't already a criteria it should be :)
