CEVO announces a retro style Call of Duty 4 tournament that will cause you to reminisce about the glory days of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Before Raf1 and Promod, before MavLP and DAMN Mod, there was Bulletworm and PAM4. The original competitive mod for Call of Duty 2, originally developed by Garetjax, was carried over to Call of Duty 4 shortly after the release of the game. The competitive players that have been playing Call of Duty 4 since the dawn of modern warfare can easily recall the mod war that happened in the beginning of the game’s life in which PAM4 eventually got beaten out by Promod. This mod war was definitely a hot topic amongst the community and can be attributed for tearing the competitive community in two, but once all the smoke and dust settled, it was Promod that appeared as victor. However, two years later PAM4 is finally making its return back to the competitive scene thanks to Ian Tannehill over at the North American Cyberevolution (CEVO) league.
Think back to January of 2008 and the glory days of Call of Duty 4 where there were hundreds of teams signed up for the Cyberathlete Amateur League’s open division and the official version of PAM4 had finally been released. Think perks, stun grenades, cookable grenades, RPDs, and multi bomb. If those thoughts brought pleasant memories flooding back into your head then you will be excited to hear about CEVO’s latest Call of Duty 4 tournament entitled the CoD4 Retro Throwback Rush Tourney. No you do not have to play the matches of this tournament while wearing your Converse sneakers or ask your parents if you could wear their studded jean jackets. You just have to be willing to commit to the use of perks, be willing to play sabotage alongside search and destroy, and have an open mind when giving PAM4 one last chance.
In an effort to fill the void of the next two months prior to the release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops, CEVO has announced this throwback tournament to keep teams interested in the series and players occupied until we all can start arguing about the next game in the series. For those of you still playing Call of Duty 4 in anticipation of Black Ops you have nothing to lose by entering this free tournament hosted by the North American premiere competitive league. It is open to all teams and free to register and play. However, sign ups are limited to 32 teams and will close Monday, October 18th at midnight, so if you want a spot in this double elimination tournament then be sure to sign up and have your team ready to play on October 19th. Now this tournament will be scheduled and run a bit differently than other tournaments because it is considered a rush tournament. Matches will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights just to make sure you are not left sitting in your room bored during the week. Have a team? Have time to play? Looking to end Call of Duty 4 in style? Then be sure to sign up for what could be the last ever CEVO sponsored Call of Duty 4 tournament.
For full details on the event and to get signed up be sure to head over to the CEVO website.

have to agree with Mr. Black on this one.
No one cares about your interest in playing or not. Were not trying to bring back pam4, everyone is aware that cod4 is on its last leg in North America and if Blackops isn't good then you probably wont see a North American cod scene anymore. Atleast a competitive one.
